Wearing Partial Dentures may Increase the Risk for Having Some Type of Heart Disease

People that wear partial dentures is at an increased risk for getting a heart disease.

If you wear partial dentures make sure you clean your teeth on a regular base because calculus and bacteria can accumulate where your dentures comes
into contact to the teeth. According to the American Heart Association, the bacteria can affect the heart and can lead to heart diseases. People that
have periodontal disease or a bacterial infection is at a higher risk of getting a heart disease. To help prevent the calculus and bacteria building
up, make sure you remove your dentures at night.

If you take prescribed medication for a heart disease, it will increase the risk of having incidence of bleeding gums. Bleeding gums can increase the
risk of getting a gum infection but a dentist can prevent it. The medication can decrease or alter any taste perception.

Having a dry mouth can weaken the dentures retention. Also, having a dry mouth can leave
the mouth with not enough saliva to wash down the food or to wash away the neutralize plaque. It can cause gum disease or tooth decay.

Fluid retention or edema can be caused any type of medications for heart disease. The signs of fluid retention or edema, is your body tissue swells up.
Even though your dentures will be able to fit but they will not hide the swollen parts.

If you wear dentures make sure your have a well balanced diet because according to research there is a link between an increase rate of getting a
stroke or heart disease and a non well balanced diet.

Having regular check ups with your dentist can prevent having future health problems or making your current health problems worse.

If you notice when you get to a dentist office, you have to fill our your medical history. The reason the dentist asks for your medical history because
they do not want to do something that will make your oral health better but put your over all health into jeopardy.
