Oral Hygiene using Electric Toothbrush
Although electric brushes have been around for more than a while, its popularity is slowly gaining. These brushes have become more popular in the
recent times mainly owing to the fact that they have slowly started becoming cheaper by the day. Also, the efficiency of oral hygiene is proved to be
much better in comparison to using an ordinary toothbrush.
So, let us understand how you go about your oral hygiene routine using an electric brush?
Brushing with an electric toothbrush is not much different from
using an ordinary brush. The difference lies in the fact that you are putting in much lesser physical effort in achieving better cleansing of your
teeth.
If you are starting off for the first time, you will need to use batteries to run your brush. These will fit into the handle of your brush and need to
be inserted in the right direction.
You will have to use toothpaste like you do with your ordinary
toothbrush. You will have to guide your toothbrush onto the surfaces of your teeth. Many of these electric brushes come with timers to help you know
when you have given each surface an adequate clean. Some even come with shutoff timers to help you know when you are done with brushing.
Some of these brushes come with many added features to improve the quality of brush and to make it convenient to brush. Some have power functions
wherein you can alter the speed of the brush to meet your convenience. Others have features like pressure sensors to gauge the pressure you are
applying when brushing. If you are adding more or lesser pressure than necessary, you will be made aware through a beeping sound.
Though an electric brush will give a very good cleanse, it is still best to use other dental hygiene aids like a dental floss and a mouthwash to give you an effective cleanse as brushing alone
cannot give you total oral hygiene.
